The Wild Horses at Theodore Roosevelt National Park
From our friends at Chasing Horses Wild Horse Advocates:
2021 Theodore Roosevelt National Park wild horse Mare Satine
"Satine was born to Mare Minnie and the late, GREAT, Stallion Satellite. She is currently in Stallion Amantes band.
According to park records, Satine received her first injection of GonaCon as a 1-year-old. She has had 3 additions GonaCon injections since – one in 2023, another in 2024 AND she received a hand injection during the wild horse round up in October of 2024.
Satine has NEVER foaled.
Blake (McCann at the park) also told us that although they used GonaCon so aggressively in 2024, they plan to be back at it in 2025 as they plan to "Halt reproduction of this herd."
REMEMBER: THERE IS NO DATA TO SUPPORT SUCH AGGRESSIVE USE OF GONACON!!! Please watch Dr. Dan Baker, lead researcher from Colorado State University who led the 11-year experiment with GonaCon on these horses: youtu.be/kdLHvgVmIuw?si=0V5QYhncFqZOL31N
Please take a moment to send an email demanding that the park STOP using GonaCon on the mares of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. You can take this easy action here:
